The Guitar Hall Jazz Guitar Courses are geared towards the pick and finger style guitarist who wants to play a range of jazz styles.
Blues into jazz – a conversion course for the blues player who wants to go beyond pentatonics and minor blues scales and explore jazz scales soloing and harmony.
Covers harmony, improvisation and theory.
Plectrum jazz – for the acoustic pick player – the course is designed to develop a toolbox of skills in jazz based scales – harmony, arpeggio forms for swing and bebop guitar players.
Fingerstyle Jazz – covers both nylon and steel acoustic stringed guitars including acoustic blues – chord melody soloing – single note playing – scales arpeggios and harmony.
Covers all periods up to bebop and swing and Latin jazz.
Jazz for the complete beginner – this is a gentle introduction for the new or beginning player who wants to develop their knowledge of chords and improvising.
Jazz Harmony – chords – chord scales – root movement – analysis of chord sequences in jazz songs and standards.
THE GUITAR HALL CLASSICAL JAZZ GUITAR COURSES
Beginners Course:
The Guitar all Classical Jazz guitar course is designed for the adult who wants to play classical guitar either from scratch or by converting from other guitar style such as electric or acoustic.
Emphasis is placed on technical development – agility exercises to develop finger independence, increased mobility and strength with particular focus on the right hand. The course also recognises that adults may have residual stiffness and/or illness and offers remedial solutions.
Musicianship – sight reading and fretboard knowledge are covered in intensive detail to avoid the situation of pupils who can play better than they can read.
Musical knowledge – a detailed knowledge of scales, arpeggios, chords and their musical equivalents are offered as part of the course.
Examinations - progressive study courses directed towards the examinations for the London College of Music – Trinity Guildhall are offered'
Duration - 6 months (48 sessions)
Course Fees: Rs.11,000/- (Payable in 2 Installments)
Classical Guitar returnees’ course:
This course is designed for the student who has played previously and wishes to rediscover the classical guitar
Course elements include:
Technique – development of strength and agility in both hands based on an individual assessment of playing ability.
Repertoire - selection of suitable pieces of sufficient level to provide challenging yet achievable pieces for the student to derive satisfaction and enjoyment from playing.
Musicianship and musical knowledge. A systematic study of chords, arpeggios, scales, tremelo, fretboard knowledge and sight reading to revive and develop skills.
Duration: 3 – 9 months depending on individual needs - course levels up to Grade 8.
Course Fees: Rs. 6,000/- for 3 Months(24 sessions)
NYLON JAZZ GUITAR COURSES
Designed for guitarists who want to play “chord melody” jazz styles or fingerstyle blues and who have some ability to play.
Course elements include – blues and jazz scales/modes – blues and jazz chords and arpeggios – solo pieces in music notation and tabulation.
Improvisation – using standard blues/jazz scales chord sequences and scales to develop students own interpretation of solo pieces.
Duration: 6 months –(48 sessions)
Course Fees: Rs. 11,000/- (Payable in 2 Installments)
FINGER STYLE GUITAR (STEEL STRING)

About Teacher :
MAX CLOUTH

Born 1985 in Germany, Max Clouth is a guitarist with a profound education in improvised music.
Starting with classical guitar training, he changed to violin for 5 years to finally return to the guitar at age of 15. He played and composed for the rock band KISMET which played numerous concerts and received a nomination in an international band contest. At the same time Max composed pieces for solo guitar and small ensembles; one of his compositions for guitar and orchestra was performed in 2004 as his final school project.In 2004 Max also started to perform with various jazz, blues and rock artists.
In 2005 Max enrolled at the Mainz University to study jazz guitar, classical guitar, bass and arranging with guitarists Marc Oliver Klenk, Norbert Scholly, bass player Ralf Cetto and pianist Jesse Milliner.
In 2008 he changed to Dresden University where he graduated in 2009.
Parallel to his official studies Max started to learn Indian classical music with violinist Indradeep Ghosh, sitarists HK Shah, Shamim Ahmed Khan and Nayan Ghosh.
Max has been performing with guitarist Torsten de Winkel (ex Pat Metheny Group), Indradeep Ghosh (violin), Omprakash Pandey, Nirmalya Roy and Niraj Kumar (tabla), Rafael Sotomayor (Chilean hangdrum innovator) and many more instrumentalists, singers and dancers from Germany, France, South and North America, Spain, India and the arabic countries.
